- Title
The Gypsy Economist. The Life and Times of Colin Clark.
- Abstract
Clark preferred to do important policy work for the Queensland government as a senior policy advisor to staying in Cambridge and becoming, initially at least, essentially Keynes's statistical research assistant. Millmow presents the views of Clark's contemporaries, but assessments of Clark through the book tend to mirror whatever is the conventional view of Clark's standing at the time. I mention in passing that Ted Kolsen in a conversation (mid-August 2021) does not agree with the view, based on what normally would be decisive authority, the report by Clark's eldest son, that Clark's conversion to Catholicism caused marital friction.
