- Abstract
Are you still drawing or are you already modelling? Digital planning and construction at DEGES Accelerated planning, cost and schedule security as well as transparency now dominate the planning and realisation of transport infrastructure projects as project goals. Conventional methods regularly reach their limits here. Therefore, new, digital methods are needed to achieve the aforementioned goals. The digitalisation of planning, constructional realisation, but also of operation, offers a great opportunity for this. A key aspect of this digitalisation is addressed by the BIM method, which, among other things, challenges traditional structures. DEGES actively supports this transformation process by sharing knowledge with third parties, but also by implementing BIM in projects and in the company. The project management company DEGES follows the approach of categorisation according to concrete fields of activities, for which, among other things, its own learning platform for BIM competence transfer has been developed. After a detailed introduction, the article presents these fields of activities and thus provides an insight into the BIM measures at DEGES. In the process, the cultural challenges are repeatedly addressed, because digitalisation not only changes working methods, but also the form of cooperation in the project team.
