- Abstract
In the book "The Riviera, Exposed. An Ecohistory of Postwar Tourism and North African Labor" by Stephen L. Harp, a look behind the scenes of the French Riviera is taken. The author examines the actions that were necessary to prepare the tourist landscapes for post-war tourists. In doing so, he identifies nature and the labor force of North African immigrants as resources that were used for tourism. The book highlights the ecological and social costs of tourism and corrects the narrative of economic and social advancement in French society.
