- Title
SANDWICHES, SILKSCREENS, SWATCHES, AND SCORES: A CONVERSATION WITH ALISON KNOWLES.
- Authors
WEIL, HARRY J.
- Abstract
An interview with artist Alison Knowles, founding member of Fluxus and artist-in-residence at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University, is presented. Knowles recounted that she started with silkscreening after graduating from Pratt and the first silkscreen work she did was for Fluxus on Canal Street. She said that the most exciting part of the early days of Fluxus was their collaboration with Ben Vautier as he was very enthusiastic and was always willing to substitute whenever George Maciunas was not available.
