- Abstract
Aim: This study aims to study the correlation of stress with that of weight gain. Materials and Methods: It was a crosssectional study conducted among South Indian people. Ninety people were included with the age group of 10-50 years. Questionnaire was circulated through SurveyPlanet. It contains about 13 questions and mainly of the age groups, gender, marital status, occupation, educational level, stress scale, health issues due to stress, sleep scale, hours of sleep, and stress due to weight. Results were collected and analyzed by statistics. Results: It was observed clearly that most of the people with the age group of 15-20 years (81%) are more aware of stress related weight gain, in which 61% are female and 29% are male. Totally, 61% of female and 29% of male are aware and they managed stress and they followed mixed diet and tried to overcome stress. The awareness among both men and women is in equal rate. Conclusion: It was noted that the knowledge of stress correlated to weight was wide among South Indian people, but still people among rural areas are not aware.
