- Title
Labour Historians and Unions: Assessing the Interaction.
- Authors
Bernard, Elaine
- Abstract
The article investigates the history and evolution of the Harvard Trade Union Programme (TUP) and the Simon Fraser University Labour Program in Canada. It notes that both programmes were started by labour approaching the respective universities. They share significant common elements which are considered as the key to their success, though they differ in histories and evolution. They aimed to complement and increase the educational programmes of labour. They also acknowledge that the institutional cultures of labour and the university make efficient advisory committee separation.
