- Title
Healthy Sleep Environment for Expecting Mothers.
- Authors
Jarvis, Jessica
- Abstract
Sleep disturbance is a major complaint voiced by certain populations. Health care providers may struggle with choosing the appropriate treatment method for patients of certain populations, such as expecting mothers. The fragility of the fetus often requires altering normal treatment procedures. If expecting mothers alter the sleep environment, fetal health and wellness can be easily maintained. Expecting mothers are capable of altering environmental sleep conditions, in addition to completing cognitive behavioral treatments and/or light therapy when experiencing sleep disturbance. The success rate in ensuring the protection of fetal health and development may prove substantial with the implementation of these techniques.
