- Abstract
The article focuses on the interview with Hong Kong action star, Maggie Cheung who played a lead role in the film "Irma Vep" in 1996 in France. According to the author, when Maggie was asked about a series of questions pertaining to her perception of French New Wave, she indirectly described it as a boring cinema which is typical of French cinema that only pleases the elite than the public. However, the author says that what Maggie Cheung presented was deeply problematic, since she was not able to respond intelligent analysis about important French film issues including the works of René Vidal.
