- Title
Sancho Pança, governador: utopia e história em Dom Quixote.
- Authors
Witeze Junior, Geraldo
- Abstract
The episode in which the character Sancho Panza becomes the governor of the island Barataria in the novel Don Quixote is analyzed. Since the government is mentioned throughout the entire novel, current investigation discusses whether the episode may consider utopia either as a literary genre or a political project and thus linking Cervantes's masterpiece with Spain's social reality at the end of the 16th century and the beginning of the 17th century.
