The article presents information on Bacillus coagulans, a gram-positive, microaerophilic, lactic-acid producing bacillus and is considered a strain of probiotics that survives in the gastrointestinal (GI) system. The bacillus is given to patients with either GI, viral or oral diseases, as well as to patients inflicted with vaginatis or rheumatoid arthritis. The toxicity, side effects and dosage for Bacillus coagulans are mentioned.
