Title
Krill Oil Monograph.
Abstract
The article presents information on the oil of krill that are red-colored shrimp-like crustaceans with high content of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCPFA). Identified health benefits of krill oil such as its antithrombotic, antiarryhythmic and anti-inflammatory mechanisms are linked to high eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic (DHA) contents. Several side effects associated with krill oil consumption include bloating, dairrhea and flatulence.
