- Abstract
The article discusses the beaded clothing worn by Yakama chief Jobe Charley Colwash from the late 1930s until his death in 1958. Particular focus is given to the choice of materials, style of construction and form of decoration on the clothing are described. Other topics include the beadwork design on the clothing representing an eagle, sun and stars and the color symbolism in beadwork of the Plateau Indians and many other Native Americans.
