- Abstract
The article describes the Buffalo Dance performed by Native Americans from Pueblo tribes located along the Rio Grande River between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico, and by Hopi tribes in Arizona. The author explains that the Buffalo Dance was originally performed to prepare for or to celebrate the hunting of buffalo. The various traditional attire worn for the dance, including a buffalo headdress and a kilt, and Hopi Kachina dolls, which depict Buffalo dancers, are described.
