- Title
Perspectives on Coaching Pace Skill in Distance Running: A Commentary.
- Authors
Thompson, Peter J. L.
- Abstract
The author comments on an article by Doctor Bradley Young on using motor learning principles in coaching pace skill in distance running. He criticizes the belief of Young that coaching objective means helping athletes to become skilled in achieving a certain pace. He relates his realization that the idea of a sound pace judgment was founded in the Western cultures on the concept of an even-pace judgement being best. He cites that Young's opinion on feedback is regarded as flawed.
