- Abstract
The article discusses the impact of policies of central banks in a small open economy to cut bank rates to the zero lower bound (ZLB). It highlights that central banks all over the world cut their policy rates to zero for balancing the offset of deflationary pressure which are associated with the collapse in demand. Information on the use of a large economy and a small open economy to study the zero bound policy is presented.
