Westinghouse wins Ukraine nuclear fuel contract.
- Abstract
The article underscores that Westinghouse Electric Company won the contract to provide nuclear fuel supplies to three Ukrainian reactor units beginning in 2011. It states that Ukrainian nuclear utility Energoatom said that a total of 630 fuel assemblies would be supplied during 2011-2015 for scheduled annual refueling for at least three units located at the South Ukraine nuclear power plant which has three Russian-made 950MW VVER reactor units. Westinghouse posed that the contract represents a major commitment from both Westinghouse and Ukraine in assuring alternative and competitive nuclear fuel supplies for Ukraine.
