The article focuses on the role of acquisition-based strategies have played within the historic preservation arena and how these efforts fit within the wider mosaic of historic preservation law. It examine the common origins of land conservation and historic preservation, with a particular focus on their collaborative work in developing the modern conservation easement as acquisition-based strategy. It also mentions that acquisition-based resource protection.
