- Abstract
The article discusses aspects of the transportation policy and practices in various African cities such as in Nairobi, Kenya. It explores factors of decision making that influence the progress in transportation projects such as the division in policymaking and closed planning processes. It cites various urban problems in the Nairobi region including poverty, social segregation and oil dependency. It highlights the need for political movements to aim for changes in ideas, policy and land use.
