The article focuses on the displacement of human judgement in science and the problems of biomedical research in an age of big data. It mentions exceptional feature of biological explanation had been recognized already by Immanuel Kant, who argued that science needed something beyond the mathematics of Newtonian physics and the Human Genome Project brought a sea change. It also mentions argument for the seeming promise of artificial intelligence in science and research establishment could forego the creative role of human judgment in developing theoretical models.
