- Abstract
The article focuses on the teaching methods that should be applied in teaching elementary science with emphasis on science's generalization and principles. Before, the concept of elementary science was on nature observations and the relationship of human with nature, but in recent years, the fundamentals of elementary science have shift into the study of science's generalization and principles. Thus, teaching methods should be developed in order to cope with the changing fundamentals of teaching elementary science. Laboratory experiment is one way of teaching elementary science wherein pupils are showed the practical uses of science. It must also be noted that teachers play an important role in teaching elementary science, for example in science experiments, they should present the problem as clearly as possible to the pupils by relating the problem to the pupil's experiences, next, teachers should show the pupils the possible solution for the problem and lastly teachers should give practical application of the experiment.
