- Abstract
The University of Bayreuth has launched a new project called FlexFiber, which aims to enable the automatic production of components made from ceramic fiber composite materials. The project is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) with approximately 700,000 euros. The goal is to develop a robotic system that can be operated intuitively by experts to accurately and reproducibly carry out complex fiber spraying processes, even in small series. The project involves the research of oxide ceramic composite materials with short fibers ranging from 14-60 mm in length. The automation of these processes will bring significant advantages to small and medium-sized companies that manufacture such components.
