- Title
MATCH RESULTS SHOW RESURGENCE IN FAMILY MEDICINE INTEREST.
- Abstract
The article presents the preliminary findings of the 2008 National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) concerning positions in graduate medical education in the U.S. The NRMP shows that 1,172 medical school graduates selected family medicine for their careers, and 2,404 of 2,654 family medicine residency positions were taken. According to physician Jim King, they have increased the number of positions offered through the NRMP and set a 10-year record with the percentage of positions filled.
