The article provides information on several articles related to operations research. "A Mathematical Analysis by Newton of a Problem in College Administration" in the 1958 issue of "Isis," discussed the analytic technique used by physicist Isaac Newton to provide a solution to problems on the just allocation of salaries and stipends. "Paradox," in the April 1962 issue of "Scientific American" examines self-contradictory statements that can strike at the foundation of logic or mathematics. "Mathematical Approach to Long-Range Planning" in the May to June 1962 issue of "Harvard Business Review," used linear-programming models to cover the integrated operations of an oil company.
