- Abstract
The dynamic situation in the last year surely necessessed a mass incursion of the distance learning worldwide. Although the ICT (Information and communications technology) has become the latest in a list of technological advances to be introduced into classroom, so far using ICT for improving educational results in school was a challenge and a personal choice for every teacher. Now with the emerge of the Covid 19 pandemic in 2020/2021 it became globally inevitable on a daily basis. There is growing awareness of the theory associated with learning and growing interest in the ways that new technologies might change the way that teachers teach and children learn. Meanwhile it created certain difficulties to apply some traditional methods in this relatively new environment and has challenged teachers to search for innovative solutions in their daily practice. Technology is a challenge not only for teachers (born as a `digital immigrants` generation) but also for the students (`digital natives`). Deepening self-knowledge and developing emotional intelligence is becoming an increasingly important factor of the digital environment. This publication addresses certain aspects of the social skills and social competence formation focusing on the emotional intelligence development. Hereby are presented several activities: working with text with elements of the `inverted classroom` method; reflective techniques; group work. The focus group of the survey also includes students with problem behavior characteristics. Nowdays teachers are dealing with problems related to unacceptable behavior of students literally every day. Those problems can vary in a wide range and sometimes may be even dangerous to the student`s health. Assisting the parent`s key role in socialization, the school can help students develop their talent in addition to realize their own potential in personal growth - both emotional and intellectual. Nowadays there is an understanding that quality learning, training and education is the basis for economic growth and social cohesion. The common well-being of the society itself is a result of common work. The organization and functioning of education systems is also the result of a combined effort aimed at shaping values, attitudes, motives aimed at developing the personality as a positive individual and a full member of society. This article intents to share experience in search of more effective ways to achieve pedagogical interactions and support students in their personal growth - by stimulating positive interpersonal communication, so they can better understand not only themselves but others too, also acquire verbal expression skills and learn techniques for effective dialog.
