- Abstract
The article discusses the plight of detained and institutionalized migrant children in the U.S., as well as the efforts to oppose the detention of children at the border. Other topics include a history of detaining and institutionalizing migrant children in the U.S., the adverse effects of detention to the children's physical, emotional, mental, and developmental wellbeing, as well as the detention of children and their families in Japanese internment camps as an example.
