- Abstract
After the Spanish Civil War, the Church launched a project of re-Christianization through which it sought to re-establish the unanimity of society around Catholicism. The interior missions, the spiritual exercises, and the Lenten conferences were three of the most important instruments used by the clergy to achieve this goal. Through these instruments, the Church demonstrated its attachment to traditional forms of religious communication and a rigorist conception of religiosity. At the same time, all three adapted to apostolic actions specifically aimed at the working class.
