- Abstract
The article focuses on a study done to determine the relationship between the natural occlusal plane and the ala-tragus line (ATL) or Camper's line, established by using three reference points. It states that the natural occlusal plane is the line extending from the mesioincisal angle of the maxillary central incisor to the mesiopalatal cusp of the first maxillary molar. According to the study, the Camper's line extending from the lower margin of the ala of the nose to the inferior border of the external auditory meatus presented a close relationship to the natural occlusal plane. It mentions that the correct determination of the orientation of the artificial occlusal plane in the posterior region is an important step in the construction of complete dentures.
