A New Future for Kenya?
- Authors
PALMER, ALEX
- Abstract
The article recognizes efforts that address some of the recurring problems pertaining to the state of politics in Kenya such as incidents of rampant corruption, widespread electoral fraud, and a wave of political and civil violence. The process of writing a new constitution was initiated as part of the reconciliation agreement negotiated by former United Nations (UN) Secretary General Kofi Annan. The nation's culture of corruption continues despite efforts to threaten and shame corrupt officials, under the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission.
