- Abstract
This article examines the impact of rainfall variability on kharif rice yield in Manipur, India. The study analyzes data from 1980 to 2020 and uses a log-linear model to assess the sensitivity of rice yield to rainfall fluctuations during the southwest monsoon months. The results show that June and August rainfall have a positive and significant influence on rice yield, while July rainfall has a negative but statistically insignificant impact. The study highlights the importance of adopting crop management systems to improve resource use efficiency and address constraints in order to sustain and increase rice yield in changing climatic conditions.
