- Abstract
The production engineering is the branch of engineering science that focuses on the organization and management of production and labor. Its origin can be identified in the set of proposals aimed at taylorist scientific organization of labor and production. The proposal affects organizational-productive to construct empirical and theoretical Taylor born in situ observations and studies conducted on the factory floor and falls in the midst of industrial engineering. The theoretical and practical streak inserted within the taylorist conception of industrial engineering fits into the universe of large industrial plants in the first two decades of the twentieth century and in a climate of great disorganization at the middle-mechanical manufacturing. With this, beyond the limitations of division of labor inherited from manufacturing, we define methods and techniques of stamp organizational level mechanical manufacturing, and industrialproductive in terms of tasks and functions. It should be noted that the production engineering works in the context of production systems, certain technologicalenvironment productive increasingly seeking to assimilate knowledge far beyond its scope merely technical.
