Etiologic Studies of Premenstrual Disorders Require Prospective Confirmation of Affective Cyclicity - Reply However, there is currently a lack of standardized criteria for premenstrual syndrome, and clinically significant cases of premenstrual disorders may not meet current diagnostic criteria for premenstrual dysphoric disorder. Comment & Response B In Reply b We appreciate the Letter to the Editor from Di Florio et al, and we acknowledge the limitations associated with retrospectively measured premenstrual symptoms, as stated in our article.[1] However, there is a need for a more balanced overview of the quality of retrospective measures of premenstrual symptoms.
