- Abstract
The article presents a case study to depict the consequences of dieselization of rail roads. The town named Caliente in Nevada was chosen for the examination. The town was built in desert and there were few resources to support it. The residents had lots of expectations from the structure of town especially the railroads. Their life pattern was destroyed with the announcement of the moving of the division point of railroads. This was destroying the economic basis of the Caliente's existence.
