- Abstract
The article discusses integrating public affairs and strategic planning. Analysts say the integration of global economies and social integration of human economic and social needs which characterize the advanced industrial society pose a fundamental challenge to the future success of public issues management and strategic planning. They say to meet this challenge public affairs managers and strategic planners must establish the social legitimacy of business participation in public policy issues. Corporate public affairs offices should play a leading role in identifying the broader national interests and formulating effective responses within the framework of a sound business plan.
