- Abstract
This review paper focuses its attention on the conceptual proposals that have been established in academic publications in Latin America against initial training, language didactics, and pedagogical practices in the area of foreign languages, aiming to identify the possible convergences in the texts against these three conceptual categories. Therefore, a qualitative bibliographic review and a comprehensive descriptive hermeneutical analysis were carried out. The corpus was consolidated from research report publications from 2016 to 2020 in Eric, Science Direct, and Scopus. The systematization and analysis of the corpus was carried out through a previously validated matrix. Identified convergences were located in tensions between theory and practice, as a result of initial and ongoing research interests that point to the subjectivities of the participants and their practices in the classroom.
