- Abstract
Colin Mallows, a renowned statistician, was born in Great Sampford, England in 1930. He studied at University College London and later joined Bell Labs in New Jersey, where he made significant contributions to the field of data analysis. Mallows invented the "Mallows Cp Statistic," a regression model diagnostic procedure that is still widely used today. He also worked on various other statistical topics and published over 200 papers. Mallows passed away in 2023 at the age of 93, leaving behind a legacy of groundbreaking research and contributions to the field of statistics.
