- Abstract
The article discusses the role of the gut-brain axis (GBA) in burning mouth syndrome (BMS), a chronic pain disorder. It is reported that BMS patients experience three types of pain influenced by the GBA, nociceptive, neuropathic, and nociplastic pain. It emphasizes the need for further research to understand the mechanisms connecting pain formation and the GBA.
