- Abstract
We performed an additional analysis of patients in the open-chamber cardiac surgery group and found a statistically significant increase in seizures overall in patients who received high-dose vs low-dose tranexamic acid. Effect of high- vs low-dose tranexamic acid infusion on need for red blood cell transfusion and adverse events in patients undergoing cardiac surgery: the OPTIMAL randomized clinical trial. Comment & Response B In Reply b In response to the comments by Dr Koster and colleagues, the OPTIMAL trial[1] enrolled patients aged 18 to 70 years, which is the age range of most patients undergoing adult cardiac bypass surgery in China.
