- Abstract
Courtship is considered a stage of great importance to predict long-term violence in adults, that is why the scientific community has been concerned about identifying the various risk factors that could be associated with an increase in the likelihood of getting involved in relationships of violent courtship. For this reason, this article aims to identify the relationship between the acceptance of violence, jealousy and sexism towards women or men and dating violence. 506 Mexican university students answered the Violence Acceptance Scale, the Ambivalent Sexism towards Women (ASI) and Men (AMI) Scale, the Jealousy Scale and the Conflict in Adolescent Dating Relationships Inventory (CADRI). The data obtained were analyzed using inferential statistics to establish the differences between the sexes (Mann-Whitney U test) as well as the association between the variables (Spearman correlation coefficient). Among the results it is highlighted that men, in general, obtained higher scores in the scales implemented, there was a greater presence of psychological violence as well as there was bidirectionality of violence in both sexes. The results are discussed from an inclusive gender perspective.
