- Title
Self-knowledge and the limits of transparency.
- Authors
Way, Jonathan
- Abstract
This article presents an examination of self-knowledge and the concept of transparency. The author attempts to show that transparency has limits that are reflected in the limits on self-knowledge. In doing so he hopes to show that the argument of philosopher Richard Moran, who believed that transparency is the fundamental feature of self-knowledge, is incorrect. He discusses the ability to be aware of your intentions and beliefs and what this means for self-knowledge.
