- Abstract
The article discusses the impact of child maltreatment and family violence on young men. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), men are more often subjected to beatings and physical punishment. One of the reasons why young men do not let others know about the violence they experienced is the notion that they should be able to protect themselves. Maltreatment and violence affect the sexual, reproductive and parenting behaviors of young men. A study found that male victims of sexual abuse are more likely to get involve in prostitution.
