The article offers information on the Holter Ridge Thinning Study (HRTD) which a forest restoration research conducted at the Redwood National Park in California from 1978. It states that the study shows that thinning has promoted branch structure restoration among second-growth redwoods in the national park. It mentions that the redwood large branches are vital for marbled murrelet as nesting habitat.
