- Abstract
The stand-alone utilization of the GERD-Q questionnaire is associated with sub-optimal accuracy due to an imperfect correlation between GERD symptoms and objective evidence of pathologic reflux measured by pH-impedance studies [[11]]. Female sex, preoperative GERD symptoms, and distal contractile integral (DCI) <= 1623 mmHg on high-resolution manometry (HRM) were identified as independent predictors of postoperative GERD at multivariate analysis. However, the majority of patients with postoperative GERD (68%) already had preoperative GERD symptoms.
