- Abstract
The article discusses the issues of gender and its importance in understanding intimate partner violence (IPV) through an examination of the difference in men's and women's complaints for civil protection orders in New South Wales. It explores the division of the sociological literature about gender and IPV to understand its implications on family violence and victimization. Also presented is the study Apprehended Domestic Violence Orders or (ADVOs) to focus on the allegations that of victims.
