- Abstract
The article discusses American paternity law, Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART), and a reported legal bias against gay fathers in the U.S. as of 2014. According to the article, men who participate in ART without engaging in sexual intercourse are known as "virgin fathers." The legal aspects of the relationship between sexual intercourse and fatherhood are examined, along with American family law. The differences between functional and structural infertility are also assessed.
