- Abstract
The rotation cylinder method was used to investigate the dissolution kinetics of AlO into molten CaO-AlO-FeO slag, and weight losses of the AlO rod were selected as experimental variables. The final melt was milled into powders for XRF detection, and the AlO rod with adhesive melt after experimental was examined by scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectrometer. It is concluded that diffusion is the restricted step in AlO dissolution into molten CaO-AlO-FeO slag; the chemical composition of the initial melts exerts a great influence on the activation energy for AlO dissolution; the range of AlO diffusivity is about 1.86 × 10 to 2.45 × 10 cm/s; no apparent intermediate layer between the AlO rod and melt is observed.
