- Abstract
The article presents information on the crisis related to the emergency medical care by the emergency departments in Maryland. Overcrowding of patients is the chief reason behind the crisis. According to physician Aisha T. Liferidge, overcrowding of patients is a systemwide problem at hospitals that must be tackled by the lawmakers. According to Maryland Health Care Commission, there were about 2.26 million visits to emergency departments in Maryland.
