- Abstract
This article reviews and presents some think over the parenting practices and their effects on the psychosocial development of children and adolescents, from research on the subject, assuming that changes in contemporary social reality, which have diluted the traditional gender and roles differences within the family, put in discussion the referentiality of adult caregivers and the importance of family in the development of pro or antisocial behavior, as well as mental health of new generations.
