- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines smooth cordgrass yields in freshwater production ponds when plant stubble is burned or mowed. Smooth cordgrass is used in wetland management projects in the U.S. The study found more smooth cordgrass stems were produced when stubble was mowed compared to when stubble was not removed. The results show that high quality aquatic marsh plants can be produced in freshwater production ponds when plant stubble is mowed.
