The article presents an analysis of "Tu Puer," the proper communion song for the Feast of St. John the Baptist. According to the author, this antiphon can be performed alternately with psalm verses which allow repetition and helps the congregation and choir familiarize themselves with the chant. In studying the text and tone of the chant, the author points out the chiastic organization of the text and the intense paradox that frames it.
