- Abstract
The article depicts a simple and cost-effective solution for identifying the return loss of a high power power amplifier (PA). It describes a test procedure according to a mathematical approach to find out the PA signal return loss by evaluating the insertion phase variation of the PA at particular voltage standing wave radio (VSWR). It shows that the suggested return loss measurement technique can be implemented through low cost test components, eradicating the need for costly network analyzers.
